Just like traditional electronic products, to make LED electronic display screens last longer, not only should the methods be paid attention to during use, but also maintenance and upkeep should be carried out. With the wide application of LED display screens, an increasing number of usage problems have emerged. The influence of various objective and subjective factors has LED to reduced lifespan and functional malfunctions of LED display screens. In order to better utilize LED display screen related products, we have made some feasible summaries on the relevant usage precautions and daily maintenance
I. Precautions for Usage Environment
The working environment temperature range is -20℃ to t≤50℃, and the working environment humidity range is 10% to 90% RH.
2. Avoid using or storing in high-temperature, high-humidity, and high-acid/alkali/salt environments.
3. Keep away from flammable materials, gases and dust when using.
4. During transportation, avoid strong impacts and collisions with sharp objects.
5. When the ambient temperature is too high or the heat dissipation conditions are poor, it is important to avoid using the screen for a long time.
6. LED display screens with humidity exceeding the specified limit may cause corrosion of components and even short circuits when powered on, resulting in permanent damage.
7. Water and conductive metals such as iron powder must not enter the screen body. LED display screens should be placed in an environment with low dust levels as much as possible. Excessive dust can affect the display effect and also cause damage to the circuits. If water enters for any reason, please cut off the power immediately. Do not use it until all components inside the screen are completely dry.
Ii. Precautions for Turning on and Off the Screen
1. Screen startup: First, turn on the control computer to ensure it operates normally, and then turn on the large LED display screen.
2. Screen shutdown: First, turn off the power of the LED screen, close the control software, and then correctly shut down the computer. Turning off the computer but not the display screen first will cause high bright spots on the screen, burn out the lamp tubes, and the consequences will be serious.
3. The time interval between turning the screen on and off should be more than 5 minutes.
4. Avoid turning on the screen when it is completely white, as this is the maximum power state and the impact current on the entire power distribution system is the greatest at this time.
Iii. Precautions for Power Supply
1. The LED module is powered by DC +5V (operating voltage: 4.2-5.2V), and AC power supply is strictly prohibited. The positive and negative terminals of the power supply must not be connected in reverse (Note: Once connected in reverse, it will burn out the product and even cause a serious fire).
2. Power supply voltage for the LED display screen: 220V±10%, frequency: 50HZ±5%;
3. The safety ground contact is reliable, the ground wire and the neutral wire are reliably isolated, and the power supply is connected away from high-power electrical equipment.
4. If abnormal phenomena such as short circuits, tripping, burning wires, or smoking are detected, repeated power-on tests should not be conducted. Instead, the problem should be identified promptly.
5. Keep the power supply stable and ensure proper grounding protection to avoid lightning strikes. Do not use it under severe natural conditions, especially during strong thunderstorms.
6. The power supply for the large screen must be provided step by step, as the maximum power state of the entire screen will have an impact on the entire power distribution system.
7. The LED display screen is not allowed to play the highest brightness all-white picture for more than half an hour to avoid excessive current, overheating of the power cord, damage to the LED lights, and shortened service life of the display screen. It is recommended to mainly play dynamic videos.
8. During the operation of LED display products, the power should not be turned on and off continuously. There should be at least one minute between the two operations.
9. The internal circuits of the large LED display screen are strictly prohibited for non-professionals to touch to avoid electric shock or damage to the circuits. If any problem occurs, please have it inspected and repaired by a professional.
Iv. Cleaning Precautions
Regular cleaning and maintenance: The large LED full-color display screen is exposed to the outdoor environment for a long time, including wind, sun and rain. Even if the indoor LED display screen has been exposed for a long time, a lot of dirt will accumulate on the screen
Dust and traces left by rain erosion need to be cleaned regularly and promptly to prevent any impact on the viewing experience.
2. If cleaning the surface of the module, please use a soft-bristled brush and gently brush it. It is strictly prohibited to clean the surface of the LED module with any liquid substances, otherwise the LED beads may be damaged.
3. Correct wiping: The surface of the large LED display screen can be wiped with alcohol, or dusted with a brush or vacuum cleaner. Do not wipe it directly with a damp cloth.
V. Moisture-proofing and Storage Requirements
Storage temperature requirements: Ambient temperature -40℃≤t≤60℃. After opening the package, LED products must be stored in an environment with a temperature <30℃ and a humidity <60%.
2. According to the environmental conditions where the display screen body and control part are located, avoid insect bites. If necessary, place rat poison.
3.LED display screens should not be kept off for a long time. In a high-humidity environment, if the screen has not been used for more than 3 days, a preheating and lighting method should be adopted each time the screen is lit: preheat at 30%-50% of the brightness for 4-8 hours first, then adjust to the normal brightness (80%-100%) to light up the screen, so as to remove the moisture and ensure there are no abnormalities during use. If the screen has not been used for more than 7 days, each time the screen is lit up, a preheating lighting method should be adopted: preheat at 30%-50% of the brightness for more than 12 hours first, and then adjust to the normal brightness (80%-100%) to light up the screen, so as to remove the moisture and ensure there are no abnormalities during use.
Proper maintenance of full-color LED large screens plays a crucial role in extending the service life of the display screen and ensuring its normal operation. If there is a malfunction with the LED display screen during the warranty period, try to keep in close contact with the after-sales personnel of the manufacturer and carry out the repair under reasonable guidance. To sum up, LED large screens are semiconductor display products that emit light and heat. Although their theoretical lifespan can reach 100,000 hours, it can only be achieved with good quality and proper maintenance as well as a reasonable usage environment.
